Prof. Patrick Parkinson (AM)

Visionary & advisor

The brainchild behind FamilyProperty, Professor Parkinson is the Professor of Law and former Dean of Law of the University of Queensland.  He is a specialist in family law, child protection, law and religion and the law of equity and trusts.  Professor Parkinson served from 2004-2007 as Chairperson of the Family Law Council, an advisory body to the federal Attorney- General, and also chaired a review of the Child Support Scheme in 2004-05 which led to the enactment of major changes to the Child Support Scheme.

Professor Parkinson originally dreamt up and then created the template for the client intake questionnaire.  He wanted an entry point for people who do not speak lawyer-ese that collected all of the information required but was written in plain English.  He sought out a tech team to put his template into practice and that was the beginning of the partnership with Tim and Fiona.
