You aren't superwoman, but you know that right? You have seen the memes, you have read the articles, and you have heard the cliche lines -
"You can do it all, but you can't do it all at once."
You know that, but the problem is that you can do it all and sometimes you end up just doing it yourself because that is quicker, right?
Because you are actually super, if you don't have a plan you will end up doing it all. We probably know that we don't have a moral imperative to be Superwoman or to do it all in order to prove ourselves, we have all read the articles, we have all seen the memes. The problem is that knowing this and putting it into practice are two different things.
If you don't want to do it all then you need a plan. What is going to happen to the stuff that you aren't going to do? Are you going to say no? Are you going to delegate? Are you going to automate?
Should you say no to a certain type of matter or client because it has too much of the work you do not want to do? Should you delegate certain work because it is time-consuming and repetitive, and you can get a VA or City Agent or offsite bookkeeper to do that? Can you automate some part of, or all of that particular problem?
At our events in January 2021 we will have a really practical session where we map our ideal workflow for our ideal client. We won't talk about the theory of mapping workflow, we are actually going to sit there and draw it out with pen and paper. Then we will refer back to that during the day, thinking about which parts of the workflow we want to solve, and how we are going to say no, automate or delegate.
